PATRICK W. HOLMES
I began my financial services career at State Employees Credit Union in 2013 and began building relationships with members, helping them with their financial needs ranging from financial counseling, tax preparation, personal and mortgage lending, and Auto, Home, and Life Insurance. While there, I completed training courses through the VITA Tax Program, Accredited Financial Counselor, and Certified Financial Planner education curriculums.
In 2018 I left SECU to join a large, captive Life Insurance agency only to find out captive insurance agencies aren’t always the best solution for clients needs. Determined to find the best insurance solutions on the market, it led me to open my own Independent Insurance Agency focusing on Life, Health, Disabilty, Long Term Care, Medicare and Annuity Solutions where there are no sales goals, no quotas, or pushy sales tactics. I’m currently licensed in North Carolina in Life, Health, Long Term Care, Medicare, Personal Lines, and Property and Casualty. Having completed all the licenses and having an understanding of when insurance is needed to protect an investment portfolio, has been the best benefit of having these licenses.
After this insurance experience, I worked with a small, boutique investment firm that focused on building investment portfolios with multiple asset classes and a portfolio downside focus. After realizing working in the Broker Dealer world wasn’t a good fit for the long term, I joined Portfolio Medics which is a Registered Investment Advisor that builds custom portfolios ranging from the beginner investor to more advanced strategies that are focused on downside protection.
I decided to double down on my financial education and develop comprehensive, financial educational courses that are available as a low cost option for those not ready to commit to a full financial planning engagement. The courses range from Working Years Financial Must Do’s to Finding Lost Dollars in Retirement.
I’ve been very blessed to have seen a wide range of financial services, advisors perspectives, and even the not so pretty side of the financial services industry. It’s with this perspective, I was able to launch Seven Two Advisors to provide quality financial education at an affordable price to motivated individuals who are wanting more structure and predictability to their financial situation. Our goal is to educate and serve our community in the financial arena and we’ve been able to do this as a member of the Board of Directors for The Kaizen Foundation of NC that focuses on financial literacy.
My team and I serve a roster of clients that range from small business owners to retirees. My goal with each client is to understand their needs and provide education that will empower them to make wise financial decisions. We serve first and enjoy working with individuals ranging from DIY personal finance aficionados to those that wish to outsource their financial decision making. “Divided Money- A self help guide to building wealth, beating the financial industry, government, and practical DIY financial considerations” was published in 2023 to give the consumer more insight into the financial industry- both the good and the bad.
We believe the strongest portfolio is one that has exposure in these four areas. The Stock Market (Investors have little control over overall returns), Real Estate Market (More control over overall returns), Equity in an Owned Business (Most control over overall returns), and Bond Alternatives(Conservative Returns). It’s these four areas that we provide the most value and education in.
We look forward to meeting you soon!
